About Us

Sizing Boards Since 2014!

At SnowboardSizeChart.com, we live and breathe snowboarding. We’re not just another site spitting out generic size charts – we’re riders, former shop techs, and instructors who’ve spent years tweaking setups and getting riders on the right board.

Snowboard sizing isn’t just about height and weight. It’s about how you ride, where you ride, and what actually feels good under your feet. We break it all down with straight-up, no-BS advice – so your board works with you, not against you.

Not sure about a size? Need a second opinion? Hit us up. We’re always down to talk boards (and yeah, it’s free!)

Michael “Banks” Taylor

– Founder & Lead Gear Nerd

  • Home Mountain: Jackson Hole, WY
  • Style: Big-mountain freeride & powder hound
  • Go-To Setup: 159W directional with stiff boots & responsive bindings
  • Background: Former shop tech, snowboard instructor, and gear tester

I built SnowboardSizeChart.com because I was tired of seeing riders waste money on the wrong boards. In the shop, I’d watch people grab whatever looked cool – only to come back frustrated when it didn’t ride how they expected. On the hill, I’d see students struggle. Not because they lacked skill, but because their board was the wrong size.

After testing hundreds of boards and dialing in countless setups, I knew there had to be a better way. This site is here to make sizing simple, so you can focus on riding… not second-guessing your gear.

The Crew

Jess – Freestyle Specialist

  • Home Mountain: St. Anton, Austria
  • Style: Rails, side hits, anything that can be buttered
  • Background: Former shop tech & instructor
  • Advice: “If you’re fighting it, you’re on the wrong size. Park boards should be playful, but still stable when you need them. Too soft, and you’ll wash out. Too long, and you’ll feel like you’re riding a tank.”

Danny “Marto” Martinez – Trench Digger

  • Home Mountain: Breckenridge, CO
  • Style: Full-send carving, eurocarves, deep trenches
  • Background: Board tester & tech rep
  • Advice: “Most riders size too small and wonder why their board feels twitchy at speed. If you want real edge hold and stability, don’t be afraid to go longer. A board should feel locked in when you lean into a carve, not like it’s about to slide out from under you.”

Marcus – Backcountry Junkie

  • Home Mountain: Revelstoke, BC
  • Style: Trees, cliffs, and anything that drops
  • Background: Backcountry guide
  • Advice: “Powder riding isn’t about effort, it’s about flow. If you’re sinking, your board might be too small, too centered, or just the wrong shape. A good powder board should keep you floating without forcing you to sit in the backseat. Set back, trust the shape, and let the board do the work.”
